The University Student Federation (FEU) of Cuba, founded in 1922, has been a fundamental actor in the history of the nation. Her fight for university autonomy and democracy made her an engine of change during the Machado dictatorship, and later, a pillar of the Cuban Revolution. In the early years, the FEU faced authoritarian regimes, leading protests and student mobilizations. After the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, it became a key organization in the construction of the new Cuba, promoting literacy and the participation of students in the revolutionary process. In revolutionary Cuba, the FEU was integrated into the political system, promoting student participation and organizing volunteer work programs. After the creation of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), the FEU became its student arm. Over the years, he has remained an advocate for academic freedom and student participation, and has contributed to Cuba's social development with literacy, health, community development, and volunteer work programs.
