Graduate Regulations
It is the responsibility of the Ministry of Higher Education to direct and control postgraduate academic training in coordination with the agencies of the Central State Administration and other national entities legally recognized in our country. Postgraduate education is one of the main directions of work of higher education in Cuba, and the highest level of the higher education system, aimed at promoting the continuing education of university graduates. In postgraduate education, one or more training and development processes occur, not only teaching-learning, but also research, innovation, artistic creation and others, harmoniously articulated in a teaching-educational proposal relevant to this level.
The Regulation of Postgraduate Education of the Republic of Cuba (Resolution 140/19 of the Ministry of Higher Education) constitutes the main document that regulates postgraduate education in the national territory.
This resolution determines, in its First Final Provision, that the Postgraduate Education Directorate of the Ministry of Higher Education (DEP-MES) establishes standards, procedures and regulations for the planning, development and control of what it provides.
