The discipline of statistics and operations research focuses on data analysis and decision making in business and organizational settings. Techniques and methods are studied to analyze data, make forecasts, make data-driven decisions, optimize processes and improve operational efficiency. Mathematical models and optimization techniques are also applied to solve problems related to operations management, logistics, supply chain, project planning and scheduling, among others.
